Apparently, I am not very good at following trends. Vietnam is the only place on the list that I will visit this year, although Sri Lanka is still a possibility since I am so close in Kerala, India right now.
Being a solo traveler on my second stint of volunteering – the first at Nam Chau Resort in Mui Ne, Vietnam, and right now at Poornodaya Vidyanikethan near Thottuva, Kerala – I do have the trends of solo and local covered.
While in Mui Ne, I met a family doing the nomadic sabbatical. A British/American couple and their 3 children have rented out their home in Spain while they travel the world for a year. The children are home-schooled. Everyone seems to be enjoying it, learning a lot with the world as their classroom, and catching up with family and friends in other parts of the world.
