San Francisco Alert: Michael Bruno luggage is closing

In doing research for my article on lightweight luggage, I checked Michael Bruno Luggage on Market Street. I had come across it only last year, and learned more speaking about luggage with its owner Lou Briasco than I have anywhere else. Plus, his story was also interesting.

Unfortunately, he is closing on December 31, 2016. I can’t vouch for how much inventory he has left, but if you have need of luggage, I highly recommend you make a visit.

It is definitely the end of an era. A transplant from Boston, he opened the store 34 years ago. He credits being there to his first landlord, who offered him a great space at a pretty good price, and then even discounted it to help him out.
